MDdatacor Receives Notice of Allowance for Patent on Technology from U.S. Patent Office

Patent for Unique, Industry-Leading Technology Solidifies MDdatacor’s Innovative Solutions

Atlanta, GA, July 15, 2008 – MDdatacor, Inc., a leader in health care quality management solutions for health plans and providers, today announced it has received a notice of allowance on a patent from the U.S. Patent Office for a key component of the company’s proprietary CareInformatixTM technology platform.

The CareInformatixTM system works with existing electronic medical record, practice management, lab and registry systems, regardless of vendor, to aggregate and report on actionable patient clinical data to physicians at the point-of-care. Access to this valuable information supports physicians in improving the quality of patient care, as defined by evidence-based clinical guidelines.

In addition to the structured data from physicians’ systems, MDdatacor is the only company able to accept, analyze and report on unstructured data such as transcribed notes and free-form text from progress notes in electronic medical record systems, where as much as 80 percent of medical information exists.

The patent will cover the ability to analyze this unstructured data with a high degree of accuracy.

Tim Roche, co-founder, president and chief executive officer of MDdatacor, said “This patent will further enable MDdatacor to maintain a market-leading position through innovation. MDdatacor is committed to providing advanced solutions that enable provider-led disease and care management, transitioning practices from visit-based care models to health management organizations.”
