Atlanta and Orlando (March 7, 2005) -- MDdatacor, inc., an Atlanta-based healthcare informatics company, announced today at the American College of Cardiology's Annual Scientific Session that its US database now contains de-identified medical records on more than five million chronically ill patients. Contributors to the database, consisting to date of 135 group practices and representing more than 2,000 cardiologists, transfer patient files via secure internet protocol to the company's data center on a monthly basis.
The patient records now in MDdatacor's database come from many of the country's leading private practice research-oriented cardiology groups and heart institutes. Utilizing patient level information in the database, MDdatacor can quickly and easily assist network physicians in profiling optimally qualified patient sub-populations for clinical research studies, tracking outcomes, and allowing physicians to measure their quality of care delivered to patients in comparison to published standards of care.
"MDdatacor bridges the information gaps among healthcare's stakeholders - patients, providers, payers, and employers. We are in a unique position because of our interoperability with all data capture systems, from traditional transcription to advanced electronic medical records systems," said Blake Whitney, MDdatacor Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. "We deliver the most detailed, accurate and current clinical informatics solutions available anywhere."
